Description

Who doesn't love Ducktales It was the first Animated series from Disney and paved  the way for more hit Disney animated series that would eventually form The Disney Afternoon but with a new Ducktales animated series coming in 2017 30 years since the show's debute I rank the top 15 episodes that stood out the most. I'm Jefimus and this is the top 15 Ducktales episodes

20. Super Ducktales: Staring things off was this 5-parter that originally aired as a Sunday Night Magical World of Disney movie at first. Only later did it get put into episodes. The Gizmoduck character was obviously an effort to make the show "cool" and "hip" but it actually ended up being a really fun story about a hero who is pretty unheroic. In order to move his Money Bin after the Beagle Boys change the new freeway route, Scrooge hires an accountant, and Bean counter Fenton Crackshell is eager to get the job. He can count anything in just a glance, which is why Scrooge hires him, he's got to keep track of every single penny in Scrooge's vault. After accidentally losing the Number One Dime to the Beagle Boys, Fenton makes several attempts to get it back, eventually becoming the cybernetic superhero Gizmoduck who becomes a sensation with the people of Duckburg – that is, until Ma Beagle and her smartest Son Megabyte Beagle and her smartest son, Megabyte Beagle, make a remote control with which to make him work for them, they force him to steal Scrooge's fortune for them kick Scrooge out of his mansion and land him in jail, cause the the authorities are too stupid to realize that the newest wealthy family in Duckburg are wanted criminals the nephews work to save the day, but  if t he Beagle Boys can't have Scrooge's fortune then no one with he sink the Mone bin to the sea then Alien robots invade and steal Scrooge's Money Bin so that it can be melted down to produce more metal. As crazy as it get

19. Allowance Day: A highly unforgettable episode Huey, Dewey and Louie try to fool Scrooge into thinking it’s Saturday so they can get their allowance early — but the gag spirals out of hand (imagine that!) and “goes viral” before going viral was a thing. The result is global chaos. Unfortunately, this episode isn’t among the three volumes released on DVD so far.

18. Once Upon a Dime: This episode is something of an origin story of how Scrooge made his first dime

17. The Masked Mallard: One of the few episode that laid the ground work for Darkwing Duck this adventure sees Gyro outfitting Scrooge himself with gadgets and a costume in order to combat a similarly costumed thief plaguing Duckburg. The costume changes drastically from DT to DW, but the aesthetic, the humor, and even the partnership with Launchpad is carried over.

16. Home Sweet Homer: IT Ducktales meets Homer's Odyessy.  What More do you want

15. The Money Vanishes: The Beagel Boys spring out of jail and steal Gyro's new invention that allows them to transport things from one location to another and use it to steal all of Scrooges money and Huey, Dewey and Louie have to stop the Beagel Boys and return Scrooges money and of course hijinks ensues

14. Send in the Clones: Sorceress Magica De Spell in what I believe is her first appearance in the TV series, as always trying to get her hands on Scrooge’s lucky “Number One Dime.” And the Beagle Boys, magically transformed into doppelgangers of Huey, Dewey and Louie! And one Webra Walters, interviewing Scrooge McDuck at the worst possible time.

13. The Curse of Castle McDuck: I was already a big of things like Ghostbusters and when a saw this episode I got the chills Revisiting his roots in bonnie Scotland, Scrooge and the boys and young Webby uncover a Druid conspiracy that draws elements from Sherlock Holmes’ Hound of the Baskervilles.

12. Spies in their Eyes: Military-industrial intrigue, spy jokes by the speedboat-load and Donald Duck. What more do you need?

11. Time teasers: I actually remembered the title once I saw it. Time a was all the rage back in the 80s. Bill and Ted, Back to the Future, even the Terminator. Ducktales had a quite a few stories about traveling through time, but none about how manipulative it can be. This was cool because you saw what happens when someone moves so fast that everything else seems to just slow down.

10. Earth Quack: Memorable action scenes highlight this story of a subterranean civilization that’s directly based on one of Barks’ own creations.Scrooge discovers that the recent series of earthquakes are caused by rolling creatures competing in a game of Roll and Crash and Scrooge has too put a stop to the games before his Money Bin gets destroyed.

9. Robot Raiders: Based on one of Carl Bank's original stories, as most good Ducktales episodes seem to be, it tells of Gyro Gearloose making giant robots for Scrooge's rival, Flintheart Glomgold. The robots are then stolen by the Beagle Boys and Ma Beagle (my research says this is her first appearance) and, naturally, they head off to get Scrooge's money. Wow, they actually play hockey with Flintheart as the puck...poor guy, I don't even remember that. He even joins up with Scrooge and Launchpad which is a nice touch.

8. The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan: Our next adventure takes us to the Himalayas where Scoorge sets his sights on The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan as so often there was, but is guarded by an abominable snowman. Everybody loves launchpad and this is one of his best episodes, plus the whole idea of a race to achieve "Explorer of the year" always keep you on your toes. Cheating, racing, clues, traps...it really has it all plus a good snooty villain that makes us appreciate Uncle Scrooge even more..

7. The Golden Goose: We all know Scrooge is a greedy old duck, but what if that overwhelming greed comes close to ending the world?! In this series finale sets chase after the Golden Goose-- the world's "ultimate treasure" but when Scrooge removes in from its location, he uses it to turn everything in his path into gold. But when Glomgold hires the Beagle boys to steal it for him, the situation takes a dramatic turn when they turn the nephews to gold, then the goose comes to life changing people and objects to gold on its own, and then becomes normal, only for its power to spread all over the world as it begins to change the entire planet into gold! Now Scrooge and Launchpad must save earth from becoming the worlds largest gold nugget.  Never have the stakes been this high

6.  Double-O-Duck: This episode predates the creation of Darkwing Duck since the spin off was going to be a soy show. Launchpad is recruited by SHUSH to impersonate a spy that was captured. The spy is named  Bruno Von Beak, who is an agent for the Foreign Organization of World Larceny, whose leader, Dr Nogood, wants to wipe out the worlds money supply. Elements of this episode, along with the later episode The Masked Mallard, were eventually spun off into Darkwing Duck.  In Darkwing Duck, The Foreign Organization of World Larceny would be renamed the FiendishOrganization for World Larceny, and Dr. Nogood was replaced in the latter series by F.O.W.L.'s mysterious "High Command" and several different agents, including their primary operative; a rooster named Steelbeak.

    5. Sphinx For The Memories: Donald returns again and gets mixed up in an ancient Egyptian spirit cult. Yes, there’s a mummy — no, it’s not the one in the show’s opening credits. There weren't too many episodes with Donald, but this was one that really put him front and center. Donald was one of my favorites and anything with him got me watching instantly.

    4. The Golden Fleecing This episode starts out as so many good and adventurous Ducktales episodes do...Launchpad McQuack flying. In this one, though, it's a dream or, should I say, a premonition because soon they are whisked away to...wherever. Actually they kinda just jump into a copter and start flying, I assume to Greece, then get attacked by Launchpad's harpys. What puts this slightly above others, other than my jumbled memories, is the rather surprising appearance by fan-favorite Ludwig von Drake who appears here as Launchpad's therapist. That statement alone is amazing...say it again "Ludwig von Drake is Launchpad McQuack's therapist."  That...is...awesome.

    3. Magica's Shadow war: That no good Magica is at it again but this time in A great story that sees Scrooge and Magica team up when one of her schemes to use her own shadow to snag his lucky charm gets out of hand.

    2. Sweet Duck of Youth: I learned more about Ponce de Leon from this episode than from any history class. I also learned that getting old sucks, and that even great adventurer’s weren’t immune — and that in the end, you’re only as old as you feel. The story’s twist on the Fountain of Youth legend is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.

    1. Treasure of the Golden Sun: That would be...oh. Nevermind. Yes, out of all the Ducktales episodes, it's really the five part "The Treasure of the Golden Suns" series that sticks with me the most. Many of those scenes are shown during the opening of theme song of each episode. The five part series was called "Treasure of the Golden Suns" Donald Duck (in one of his rare appearances in the show) joining the Navy and leaving nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie to live with tight-fisted Uncle Scrooge. At first the arrangement is not a harmonious one, but the rambunctious boys bring out the lonely miser’s better qualities when they show him their cool-headed wits in one adventure after another. The plot, involving a model ship that’s really a treasure map, shares some elements with Steven Spielberg’s 2011 big-screen Adventures of Tintin, which makes sense when you know that Carl Barks, upon whose comics many DuckTales episodes are based, was a contemporary of Tintin cartoonist Georges Remi. If you love old Scrooge McDuck’s adventures, you’ll also find much to love in Tintin’s many
